On 2/7/17 the Bishop Kenny High School Crusaders won their Region 1-2A championship game at home against the Florida High School Seminoles, Tallahassee. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation and two overtimes. The contest was then decided on the basis of the best of 5 penalty kicks with Bishop Kenny prevailing by a score of 3-1.
